It is the critical issue for young children to encourage them to enjoy learning English. And because learning is the most boring part of English in particular, I think children may feel bored and tiresome very easily. In this case, younger brother refused to go to Hakwon because he felt learning English really boring. And In Hakwon, he was forced to do phonics and memorize words. I think it makes him more feel boring for learning English.

So I will try to make an effort to encourage him to get interested in reading English passages. In ESL learning situation, personal factors are also important factor as other factors such as language abilities. Before making him start to study, it is essential part to test him carefully. It means that we have to measure the learner's personal characteristics and learner's dispositions. And through these process, we can organize the language learning systems appropriately for the specific learners.

Learning phonics and letting the learner memorize words are absolutely effective methods. But even if these methods are effective, it is useless for learners whose personalities are not appropriate with that methods. So, I will measure my younger brother carefully at first by several tests like MBTI, and then based on that test results, I will make own learning system for my younger brother. For example, If my younger brother's type is extroversion, learning schedule should be organized effectively for extroversion learners. However, if my younger brother's type is introversion, learning activities consist of some kind of individual activities better than group activities.

And in my opinion, Hakwon's learning system is too one-sided and it doesn't care about various learner's type. So I will persuade my mother not to let my younger brother go to Hakwon before he feels learning English very interesting. Therefore, I am pretty sure that my younger brother feel reading in English interesting and he will enjoy reading in English.
